Downtown Tonight

rhett walker bandEverybody’s got something that keeps that train going ‘round
Punch that clock on Friday so we can get downtown tonight
Everybody’s got something they want to celebrate tonight
So grab your glass, raise it high, let’s kick this weekend off right, right, right

And get to singing hey, ay, ay, ayy
We got that jukebox playing all them songs that keep us singing, hey, ay, ay, ayyy
It doesn’t matter if you’re sitting, dancing, whiskey drinking, hey, ay, ayy
It’s downtown tonight

Doesn’t matter if there’s a dance floor
There’s plenty of room everywhere
It’s okay to get loose when those mountains turn blue, yeah, ice blue

We got our friends in the band here
They’re playing Skynyrd all night
Yeah you know it’s getting rowdy but that’s all right, right, right

They got us singing hey, ay, ay, ayy
We got that jukebox playing all them songs that keep us singing, hey, ay, ay, ayyy
It doesn’t matter if you’re sitting, dancing, whiskey drinking, hey, ay, ayyy
It’s downtown tonight
It’s downtown tonight

Hey, ay, ay ayy
Just keep that jukebox playing all them songs we grew up singing
Hey, ay, ay ayy
It doesn’t matter if you’re sitting, dancing, whiskey drinking
So come on sing it
Hey, ay, ay ayy

We got that jukebox playing all them songs that keep us singing, hey, ay, ay, ayyy
It doesn’t matter if you’re sitting, dancing, whiskey drinking, hey, ay, ayyy
It’s downtown tonight
It’s downtown tonight

Thanks for the lyrics brother. I am finally getting back to check them out. I am hooked up like a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. 🙂 I think I need a little Downtown Tonight time. Blessings!

Not sure if your a sell out or confused. I bought your other cds and loved them. Thought you were different, that you all offered a great alternative for people tired of the country and other secular junk out there. I am very disappointed and I will not be recommend your music anymore.

Got something to say?
